Director
Takashi Ishii continues his dark journey into the forbidden realms of
sado relationships. Many critics have concluded that - this time - he's
gone too far. Certainly, this film is his most graphic - even by comparison
to his two FLOWER
AND SNAKE movies - and easily it's his most uncompromising venture.
Cynical. Sexist. Abusive. Any of these words could describe this motion
picture. But this controversial film is also thought-provoking.
The story
deals with a high school freshman girl named Naoko who was kidnapped and
imprisoned by a man who lived next door. She finally escapes the torture
after killing him. Year later, Naoko - now a gynecologist - has a serious
secret S&M fetish. Her fantasies lead to greater abuse as she tries to
ease the memory of torment at the hands of the psychopath.
A Japanese
film with optional English or Chinese subtitles; widescreen format,
