The
First in Isabel Sarli's 'Furia Sexual' Trilogy
Original Argentinean/Spanish title: FURIA SEXUAL
[Sexual Fury]
Also known as DESNUDA EN LA ARENA [Nude in the Sand]
director: Amando Bo
starring: Isabel Sarli · Victor Bo · Jorge Porcel · Eduardo Frangias
· Virginia Romay
Isabel
Sarli plays the role of Alicia, a woman who must learn to fend for herself
(and child) when her husband is killed in a traffic accident. After
facing constant sexist advances from various new employers, she decides
to change her identity and go to Panama for work. Very soon, Alicia
falls under the influence of a con-man [played by Victor Bo] and helps
him fleece many victims which leads to extortion and - of course - trouble
with the law.
This movie is one of 3 made in 1969 starring Isabel Sarli (also see
FUEGO
[Fire] and EMBRUJADA
[Bewitched]). This scorching trilogy established her reputation as South
America's Sex Queen. She had won the 'Miss Argentina' title in 1955
and a short time later met actor Amando Bo. He convinced Isabel to make
movies with him as the writer and director. The union resulted in a
marriage and 30 subsequent films, ending in 1981 with Amando's death
from cancer. Despite constant attempts to censor her motion pictures,
in 2012, the president of Argentina Cristina Fernández de Kirchner,
gave her the honorary title 'Ambassador of Pop Culture.'
