WRESTLING WOMEN VS KILLER ROBOT (1969)
WRESTLING WOMEN VS KILLER ROBOT (1969)
5021DVD

original Mexican/Spanish title LAS LUCHADORAS CONTRA EL ROBOT ASESINO
[WRESTLING WOMEN VS THE KILLER ROBOT]
also known as EL ASESINO LOCO Y EL SEXO [THE CRAZY KILLER AND SEX] (see ad below)

director: Rene Cardona
starring: Joaquin Cordero · Regina Torne · Hector Lechuga · Malu Reyes · Carlos Agosti

This is the fourth (and final) Wrestling Women movie, preceded by SHE-WOLVES OF THE RING, WRESTLING WOMEN VS AZTEC MUMMY and WRESTLING WOMEN VS THE KILLER DOCTOR. Neither Lorena Velazquez nor Elizabeth Campbell would appear here [Lorena went on to PLANET OF FEMALE INVADERS and numerous Santo films, while Elizabeth kept her Golden Rubi character alive in PANTHER WOMEN before retiring in 1970].

However, exceptional Regina Torne is here as wrestling woman Gabi. She and police-detective boyfriend Arturo (played by Joaquin Cordero of DR SATAN fame) battle a mad scientist who has created both a killer robot and a murderous ape/man creature. Gloria Chavz is another luchadoras named Bertha who becomes Black Electra after the crazy doctor transplants the ape's head onto her body.

It seems filmmaker Rene Cardona was obsessed with the ape/ monster character as it showed up in many of his films, including forementioned WRESTLING WOMEN VS KILLER DOCTOR and, perhaps most famously, in NIGHT OF THE BLOODY APES.

A Mexican film with English subtitles; widescreen format, (79 min.),
in DVD format, encoded for ALL REGIONS, playable on any American DVD machine.
Extras include selected trailers
