This
is a mega-rare Giallo from filmmaker Giuliano Biagetti [sometimes know
by his pseudonym Pier Giorgio Ferretti, THE
NOVICE with Gloria Guida in 1975]. However, the story does not
follow the typical Giallo formula, rather it's an erotic mystery
with a truckload of twists and turns. A fashion photographer is sailing
with his wife, her sister and his 'muse' nympho model. When their
boat has carburetor trouble, he leaves the three women alone near a
deserted island, hoping to find the part. In his absence, a mysterious
man shows up - perhaps an escaped criminal - who then seduces the three
women [with unexpected results].
A year
before this film, French actress Haydée
Politoff made the cult hit BORA
BORA. She would follow it with QUEENS
OF EVIL and VIRGIN
OF BALI. A couple years later she starred with Paul Naschy in
COUNT
DRACULA'S GREAT LOVE. Ms Politoff, born in 1946, is still acting
today (making the American film Rendezvous in Chicago
in 2018).
