An unnerving
story about a horrid family with secrets kept behind closed doors, highlighting
their elaborate facade where appearances can be deceiving, and nothing
is as it seems. The film opens with Angeliki's 11th birthday. During her
party, she casually jumps from the balcony of her family's home. She dies
in a bloody heap with a smile on her face. While the police and social
services try to discover the reason for her suicide, Angeliki's family
keeps insisting it was a tragic accident. But they won't be able to keep
the secrets hidden for long. And nobody will expect the resulting bloody
mayhem.
Greece
is not known for X-treme|Disturbing movies. Such films from that country
could probably be counted on one hand (and would certainly include ISLAND
OF DEATH, HARDCORE
and DRACULA
OF EXARCHA.) Director Avranas brings his talent as an Art graduate
from Athens University to the film medium for this exceptionally poignant
but VERY disturbing motion picture.
