Director Wong (2046, FALLEN ANGELS and many more) teams with cinematographer Christopher Doyle for this story of mercenary folk hero Ouyang Feng. It's told in a freeform, nonlinear narrative featuring some of the world's most breathtaking action sequences. Brigitte Lin plays a woman spurned who hires Ouyang to kill her unfaithful suitor but then she mysteriously changes her mind and hires him to protect the rogue.
