Here
is an omnibus film of four stories, leading one into the next. Each tale is
structured from Thailand's most gruesome headlines, spurred mostly by
a horrendous nightclub fire that erupted on New Years Eve 2009 at the
crowded Santaka in Bangkok, taking the lives of 40+ young people. In the
first tale, Blaze, a man is haunted by a ghost after he
survives a fire that killed his girlfriend. This story segues into Imprison
about a man who believes he's going insane after his cell-mate hangs himself.
In Revenge, a deaf-mute drug-dealer murders a female thief
in his apartment but makes the mistake of stashing her body in his building's
water duct. This all meshes into Haunting Motel, where an
aging stripper-cum-prostitute, a gay guy and his straight friend end up
in a hotel owned by an insane old lady.
This
project is mostly the brainchild of Poj Arnon, who also had a hit with
another 'ripped from the headlines' shocker called THE
UNBORN CHILD. Prior to his flirtation with the horror genre, Mr
Arnon directed the female actioner CHAI-LAI
ANGELS in 2008.
