This is Syamsul Yusof's film. He was the writer, director and star. It has become the highest grossing movie of all time in Malaysia. Yusof plays Adam, a Muslim doctor who stops practicing medicine after his wife is killed in a traffic accident. He has disconnected himself from the world but then later he agrees to treat a woman suffering from a demonic possession. Unsettling things start happening to him.
The trend towards (Islamic) religious horror originally took root in Turkey with such hits as MUSSALLAT and SICCIN. This one is more rigid in execution. There are no scenes of physical contact between different genders, as in Islamic culture, such action is highly forbidden.
