ANGELS - which also starred Yukari, Cynthia and Billy Chow - this
one adds HK martial arts veteran Gordon Liu to the mix. Yukari plays a
tough-as-nails Interpol agent who hooks up with local female cop (Cynthia
Khan) to bring down a heroin smuggler. Unfortunately, Gordon Liu seems
to only be cashing a paycheck in the role of a virtually unrelated kung
fu chef.
As referenced
above, Yukari Oshima and Cynthia Khan starred jointly in the companion
film, TIGER
ANGELS but they also worked together five years earlier in YES
MADAM! A SERIOUS SHOCK with Moon Lee as a villain. Director Mao
Chiang-Pang would only make a handful of movies in a 5 year span, quitting
the business when Beijing took over the HK studios in 1997. He had previously
worked with Yukari for his debut film DEVIL
CAT. His final project would be HORRIBLE
HIGH HEELS.
