When
Howard Johns is accidentally released from Cresthaven Mental Hospital
(it was supposed to be John Howard), he returns to Barington College,
the scene of brutal murders of numerous young women 20 years before.
Dr Joan Gilmore, a dedicated psychiatrist, follows the psycho's trail
of new bodies to the university where she is sucked into a vortex of
horror.
This
Canadian produced film is relatively unknown today, but it was a huge
Drive-In/Grindhouse success domestically in the summer of 1986. The
girl who is chased throughout is played most effectively Tori Hartman
in her only role. The star is Canadian-born Belinda Montgomery as Dr
Gilmore. Her career consisted of mostly American television work (100+
TV shows including Ironside, the role of Jennifer Brighton
on Dynasty and Caroline Crockett on Miami Vice.
Director Simon Nuchtern was best known to cult fans for shooting the
gore footage at the conclusion of SNUFF.
