Former American fashion model Michelle Johnson plays a television reporter named Vanessa covering a story of a farmer attacked by his chickens. She complains to her boss about the current rash of crappy assignments ["I'm a real journalist with a college degree!"] but he laughs and tells her to continue delivering what's popular. However, she soon discovers the chicken attack wasn't an isolated incident. Michele and her cameraman Peter quickly find themselves enroute to Spain to investigate a town wiped out by birds. The attacks continue and grow with intensity. Vansessa comes to the conclusion that birds are organizing against the ecological ravages of man.

Obviously, this exploitation spectacle was inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" (which had been based on a very short story by Daphne Du Maurier). Here, Rene Cardona Jr takes full writing credit [releasing the film as BIRDS 2 in parts of Europe] and he does not shy away from providing countless scenes of graphic bird attacks. The movie has been released worldwide, usually the target of severe censorship edits - some versions are as short as 76 minutes - with much of the grisly violence and nudity scissored out. This print, however, originates from Amsterdam (English with Dutch subtitles); it is complete at 100 minutes. Rene Caradona Jr made 100 movies between 1964-2002. He is best known for GUYANA CULT OF THE DAMNED (1979) and TREASURE OF THE AMAZON (1985). Mr Cardona died in February 2003 at age 63.
