This
is Ling Pang's notorious fever-dream of a movie, long sought-after by
collectors of unusual HK CAT III films. Here is a possession movie with
a truckload of hexes, spells and popular genre actor Jack Long (Chiang
Huang) as the evil wizard Malaba. Director Ling Pang and writer Do Hong-Yue
made numerous dark sorcery films (including BRUTAL
SORCERY and BLOODY
WORM SORCERY) during the permissive Category III days of the 1980s
before retiring from the motion picture business.
Jiu Sui
Kiu had a difficult and 'sinful' life as a lounge singer. She was also
raped, robbed and murdered by a con-man gangster named Chiu Wai On. Now,
as a ghost, she is confined to an abadoned room behind a hotel. Miss Jiu
wants desperately to return to the human world [essentially to seek vengeance]
but is having difficulty releasing her soul from Hell because she needs
the assistance of someone born with the same birthday [an unusually rare
sequence of the 10th minute of the 10th hour of the tenth day or the tenth
month]. A quirk of fate puts Lau Kwan Yau in that room. And he's the perfect
match to break the 'Poison Blood Spell.' Miss Jiu convinces Lau to help
her, first through the possession of a doll, then by actually possessing
him.
