Here's
a no-nonsense 'Girl-with-Guns' actioner from Taiwan. Moon Lee plays Ah
May, a Hong Kong police officer who travels with her male partner (Wilson
Lam) to Thailand to rescue a British bureaucrat taken captive by a vicious
drug lord.
Director
Hua San helmed 30+ movies between 1974-1992, mostly a collection of series
martial arts fare. However, he also made a few quirky genre features including
SOUL
BROTHERS OF KUNG FU and KUNG
FU ZOMBIE. His action director here is legendary Yuen Bun, the
actor-turned-stunt-director, best known forONCE UPON A TIME IN CHINA and THE
CHINESE GHOST STORY. Moon Lee quit the business in 1994 [after
45+ movies] to open a ballet school in Hong Kong. Then, in 2001, she got
married and moved to Denver Colorado USA where she prefers not to talk
about her movies.
