When a young girl discovers that her new middle school is the same place where her sister mysteriously disappeared eleven years before, she and her friends join forces to fight the evil that threatens them all. Satomi and Saori are in their first week of high school. Satomi is uncomfortable because of her sister's earlier disappearance They know of the rumors that the school is haunted. This is especially true of the second floor restroom where the ghost Hanako appears. Supposedly, Hanako is the ghost of a girl who was brutally murdered while looking for her mother. Students believe that if they see Hanako, they will soon die. Satomi discovers that many students have disappeared over the years and it seems to have something to do with the Shinto temple on the edge of the school grounds.

Actress Ai Maeda made her debut in the previous HANAKO film. Interestingly she played a boy in that film, now three years later, in this version, she's a girl, Satomi. Miss Maeda would go on to make some genre classics like BATTLE ROYALE 2 and DEATH NOTE: LAST NAME. However, easily half of her projects in the past 20 years have been voice work for video games.
