The setting
is a remote general hospital, tottering on the edge of bankruptcy. The
reduced staff is working under a severe stress and mistakes are bound
to happen. Dr Uozumi and his nurses commit an error... injecting a burn
victim with potassium chloride, killing him. This problem is compounded
when the ambulance leaves the patient in the ER and allows the lethal
infection to multiply. Muscles and internal organs liquefy producing a
deadly virus that soon infects the entire clinic.
After
a decade of television work, Masayuki Ochiai made a name for himself as
one of the directors for the award winning horror omnibus TALES
OF THE UNUSUAL. In 1997, he wrote and directed the SciFi shocker
PARASITE
EVE. A bit later, he was tapped to end the long-running JUON
franchise, with JUON:
