also known as NIGHT VOYAGE
director:
Kim Soo-Yong
starring: Yu Jeong-Hie · Shin Sung-Il · Lee Il-Wong · Lee Ja-Yeong
Lee Hyeon-ju
works at a bank in Seoul. Officially, she is single. But, in reality,
Hyeon-ju is living with her boss Park. While such a relationship is frowned
upon by society, it is especially forbidden by a conservative institution
such as a bank. None-the-less, they DO live in sin
together today, with plans of getting married soon. However, Hyeon-ju
is dissatisfied because her lover Park does not satisfy her sexually.
One night, after getting raped by a stranger (and being excited by the
assault), Hyeon-ju starts to doubt the practicality of her upcoming wedding.
Sexual
hypocrisy rears its ugly head in Kim Soo-Yong's erotic film. The feminist
theme is probably the key reason for the heavy censorship leveled against
this movie by the government Agency of Cultural Standards, finally approving
a 77 minutes theatrical release. For many decades, that edited print was
the only available version. Now, here is the fully uncut 88 minute print!
It stars Yu Jeong-Hie who also made CONCUBINE
LADY for Shin Sang-ok a few years early.
