original Chile/Spanish title MUERTE CIEGA [Blind
Death]
director:
Lucio Rojas and Cristian Toledo
starring: Cristian Ramos · Guillermo Alfaro · Pablo Tournelle · Pamela
Rojas · Felipe Lobos
The Chilean
government hires a team of ruthless mercenaries, led by Colonel Rainoff,
to explore a quarantined district that has been overrun by zombies after
an industrial accident at an experimental chemical station. The mission
also includes Dr Elisa who believes her job is to run specific tests at
the compromised facility. However, she and her mission, is merely cover
for the real task. Col Rainoff has been given orders to find and retrieve
a 'zombie' who has not been contaminated by the disease. He also is under
orders to eliminate the rest of his team - now hopelessly infected - before
returning to the safe zone.
This was the debut project for Lucio Rojas, a South American filmmaker
who has found much success in the Xtreme Horror genre with TRAUMA
and SENDERO
[The Path]. Hew is also the director for a quieter-but-effective
horror film called PERFIDIA
[Wicked Woods]. His female costar here is his wife, Pamela Rojas,
who has acted in all of his movies. Usually, she also is deeply involved
in the behnd-the-scenes work; Ms Rojas did makeup and the special FX for
this one.
