At an
outdoor "Save the Planet" rally, a politician is assassinated,
shot to death by someone with a long rifle. As luck would have it, an
outlaw biker-gang known as the Gravediggers were also at the event. One
of them, stoned on LSD, was wandering around during the mayhem and saw
the shooter. The killer missed his opportunity to eliminate the biker
and so - afterwards - goes on a kill mission against the Gravediggers.
Secretly, the police put an undercover cop named Stone in the gang to
stop the murders.
Sandy
Harbutt made this Ausie motorcycle gang actioner four years before Mad
Max (both share much of the same cast). It is credited as "the
movie that started Ozploitation," a term used Internationally to
describe the new wave of Grindhouse fare coming from Australia. [The United
States was slow in distributing Ozploitation, the moniker was not used
in advertising until the release of TURKEY
SHOOT in 1982.]
