In
2007, director Miike already delivered a masterpiece in his homage to
Spaghetti Westerns, SUKIYAKI
WESTERN DJANGO. The same year, he also returned to his gangster roots
with this breathtaking, visually shocking tale based on Playstation 2's
game YAKUZA [also designed by Miike].
This
is the story of survival in an world-gone-mad as a young gangster is released
from prison and attempts to distance himself from the Yakuza. Along the
way, he meets and chooses to help a distressed girl trying to find her
missing club-hostess mother. The deeper he gets into the seedy underworld,
the more he becomes a target for a Yakuza psycho with a grudge.
An
import of a Japanese film; original widescreen format (16:9), fully
uncut (110 minutes) in DVD encoded for REGION ONE NTSC, playable on
