A girl contracts an unknown infection that causes her to evolve into a horrifying monster. Junior and his wife Inday live on the outskirts of a tiny rural town in the Philippines. They have a small family. One day, their daughter, Amor, comes home with a perplexing infection. A local medic diagnoses that she is suffering from a venom that has settled in her ears. Within a short time, Amor transforms into a monster similar to a werewolf, commonly (in the Philippines) called an Aswang.

Usually, these transformation movies are either told from the view of the monster or from that of a victimized community. However, this one is considerably unique as the narrative centers squarely on the family and how they deal with this terrible affliction. As such, Richard Somes movie is uncomfortably personal and remarkably tragic.
