This is Domenico Paolella's companion project to his NUNS OF SAINT ARCHANGEL and it is often cited as being on of the best examples of that peculiar genre which has become known as Nunsploitation. The story deals with Carnela, a young woman who refuses to participate in an arranged marriage and, instead, is sent to a remote convent for life. Her arrival sparks a 'war' between the decadent Sister Elizabeth and the evil mother superior, both of whom want young Carnela for herself exclusively.

The impressive cast is headed by British actress Suzy Kendall who had starred in a string of UK productions including Peter Collinson's impressive THE PENTHOUSE and IN THE DEVIL'S GARDEN before venturing to Italy for Sergio Martino's TORSO earlier in 1973.
