Laurent is a young man who wants to join Priestess Gezale's sect of witches residing in a forest near his house. But, after his initiation period, Laurent learns that his wife must also join the coven for him to become a member. Aline is understandably reluctant, so the priestess initiates a series of tortures designed to break her spirit.

This is like a Renato Rolselli film (e.g., OSCENITA or TRUTH ACCORDING TO SATAN) if directed by Jean Rollin. It's an effective yet illogical sado/horror tale from Mario Mercier, designed to offend and shock the audience. It is Mr Mercier's second (and final) feature film, following the equally irreverentGOULVE: EROTIC WITCHCRAFT (1972). After censorship problems [causing devastating distribution troubles] for both movies, Mr Mercier left the motion picture business for a new career in New Age. He is now the author for numerous books about spiritualism, shamanism and - of course - witchcraft.
