Liv is a frank, sexual
being. She finds herself in a series of sexual relationships with men
who - she says - fall too much in love with her and become oppressive.
Finally she meets a man who is very much like her, but that brings a new
set of problems.
This classic Scandinavian
sex film was scandalous when released in 1965, but it is largely forgotten
today. Here is the story of a young Swedish girl who has a rather strange
relationship with her violinist father (an early scene shows her masturbating
while her father plays his violin in the next room). After daddy becomes
sick and dies, she spurns her young fiancé and becomes involved
in a series of casual affairs with older men, including a patient in the
hospital where she works. Each of her various suitors wants to marry her,
but she always clings fiercely to her independence.
