019 BELL FROM HELL (1973) Perverse Spanish Horror
019 BELL FROM HELL (1973) Perverse Spanish Horror

A Beautiful yet Remarkably Twisted Spanish Horror Film

Original Spanish Title: LA CAMPANA DEL INFIERNO (The Bell From Hell)
also known as THE BELLS

director: Claudio Guerin Hill
starring: Renaud Verley Viveca Lindfors Alfredo Mayo Maribel Martin Nuria Gimeno Christine Betzner

A young man is unjustly sentenced to incarceration in a mental asylum by his crippled aunt. But he is soon released and - of course - he takes revenge on his three young, sexy, female cousins (each of whom end up deflowered and hanging naked in a slaughterhouse). The hero gets his comeuppance though various macabre jokes played on a local would-be rapist and his wife.

This was only the second feature film from director Claudio Guerin Hill (preceded by The House of the Doves). Unfortunately, it would also be his last. On the final day of shooting, Claudio fell or jumped to his death from the central bell tower constructed for the film. He was 34 years old.

A Spanish film in English language; widescreen format (16:9), fully uncut (93 minutes), DVD encoded for
ALL REGION NTSC WORLD FORMAT; extras include theatrical trailer.
