Mario
consigns his girlfriend Licia to a whorehouse for an evening so he can
get get the photographs to blackmail her father. In retaliation,the
father then forces Licia into an asylum for the mentally disturbed.
She gets out, and - pretending to be crazy - proceeds to take revenge
on everybody including her lover, older sister, brother-in-law - and
of course - her father.
American actress Adrienne Larussa absolutely steals the show as
Licia. Strongly resembling Soledad Miranda (EUGENIE
DE SADE, VAMPIROS
LESBOS, et al), Ms Larussa manages to exude a chic sexuality
while suffering through both betrayal and revenge.
Adrienne had only one other gig before this film, a minor part on ABC's
General Hospital (1968). She left that
series for an Italian contract which included this film and Lucio Fulci's
BEATRICE
CENCI, the same year. After a small part in Nicolas Roeg's The
Man Who Fell To Earth, she returned to the United States television
scene, landing the major role of bad-girl Brooke Hamilton for 265 episodes
of Days of Our Lives soap. Today, Ms Larussa is a real estate
agent in Los Angeles.
Rossano
Brazzi was an accomplished actor, involved in over 200 projects before
his death in 1994. He was best known to English-speaking audiences for
his role of Emile de Becque in the movie version of Rogers & Hammerstein's
musical South Pacific (1958) but he also starred in numerous
other Hollywood blockbusters (Three Coins In The Fountain, Barefoot
Contessa, et al). Interestingly, in the late '60s, Rossano
took some of his Hollywood money and went to Italy where he financed
three unconventional motion pictures:SEX
OF THE DEVIL, SEVEN
MEN AND A BRAIN with Ann-Margret, and this psychedelic thriller,
all of which he also directed under the alias Edward Ross. Mr
Brazzi died in Rome, December 1994, after complications with a neural
virus. He was 78 years old.
