Marco
is a chicken breeder (and part-time prostitute killer) who is married
to the strong-willed Anna, owner of the chicken plantation. When her
niece, Gabriela comes to stay, Marco falls for her. The two plot Anna's
death but unbeknownst to Marco, Gabriela is secretly in love with Mondaini,
and is already in a plan to murder both Marco and Anna. The young couple
succeed in knocking off Anna, but before they can frame Marco for the
crime, he discovers the body and disposes of it. Unfortunately for Marco,
he fatally falls into the pulverizing machine... an accident that causes
even more trouble for Gabriella and Mondaini.
Once,
film critic Craig Ledbetter wrote: "My favorite Euro-trash film
ever. I have watched it dozens of times and have yet to ever tire of
the many twists and turns served up by the film's labyrinthine plot."
Brilliantly directed and edited by Giulio Questi, an industry player
who worked with many Italian luminaries (including Federico Fellino
and Francesco Rosi). Questi - who sometimes used the Elio Montesti
pseudonym - died from natural causes in December 2014 at age 90.
