After the death of their mother, Edmund and sister Ursula leave their
boarding school to return to their family estate in Venice. Mom's long-term
lover, Gerard Villeneuve welcomes them. He introduces Edmund to the
charms of the family maid while becoming enraptured by Ursula, now a
striking double for her late mother. Ursula succumbs to Gerard's seduction
while attempting to learn more about the affairs of her mom, his lover.
