Bruno Corbucci's Notorious 'Cave-Man' Sex Comedy

Original Italian Title: QUANDO GLI UOMINI ARMARONO LA CLAVA E CON LE DONNE FECERO DIN-DON

director: Bruno Corbucci
starring: Antonio Sabato · Aldo Giuffre · Vittorio Caprioli · Nadia Cassini · Gisela Hahn · Lucretia Love

Written and directed by Bruno Corbucci, this is a prehistoric-themed comedy based loosely on the classic Greek anti-war play Lysistrata by Aristophanes. The film opens as cave-stud Ari (played by a clearly embarrassed Antonio Sabato) secures 'fuck rites' to lovely virgin Listra after winning a pig-catching contest. However, their attempts at Ding-Dong constantly get interrupted by inopportune battles between his Cave Dweller Tribe and the Lake Dwellers. Annoyed that her new mate would rather Make War than Ding-Dong, Listra organizes the women of both tribes to go on strike and withhold Ding-Dong until the men stop their constant fighting.

Bruno Corbucci started his movie-making career as a scriptwriting in 1964, responsible for penning almost 150 motion pictures including DJANGO for his more famous filmmaking brother Sergio Corbucci. As a director, Bruno would concentrate mostly on lowbrow comedies and then, later, on crime films. Mr Corbucci's career ended with his death in September 1996, six years after his brother's passing in 1990. Bruno Corbucci was 64.
