This
is Blaxploitation like none other, pure sleazy Grindhouse trash. The
story deals with a group of five young women who - after getting raped
by a street gang - decide to take the law into their own hands. They
take self-defense kung-fu lessons, learn how to shoot and get bad
ass. They form a gang called the Black Alley Cats and decide to
find the bastards who brutalized them. Along the way, the Black Alley
Cats take vengeance on anybody who preys on the weaker sex, including
a lesbian seductress and her rapist doctor husband.
Director
Henning Schellerup came to the U.S. from Denmark in the late '60s. After
working in Hollywood as a cinematographer he had the opportunity to
direct this film, written by his close friend Joseph Drury. After this
project, Henning began marking religious documentaries under the name
Han Christian. Between 1977 and 1993, he directed "In Search
of Historic Jesus," "Greatest Heroes of the Bible," "Ancient
Secrets of the Bible," and the oddly successful theatrical
"Incredible Discovery of Noah's Ark" (1993). Mr Schellerup
died in May 2000 at age 72.
