A
group of strangers, lost in the fog on an isolated back road, are forced
to spend the night in a mansion located on the edge of a cemetery. A
typical plot in the old-dark-house formula, but things start taking
an unusual twist when the hostess of the house begins telling everybody
about vampires and local legends. Some truly unique ideas and a couple
real scares in this cult giallo from Spain's prolific horror period.
Evelyn
Stewart was born Ida Galli. She began her acting career under that name
in 1960 with a role in Federico Fellini's "La Dolce Vita."
She was Isli Oberon for Mario Bava's "Whip and the Body" and
then Priscilla Steel for "Assault on Fort Texan." In 1965,
she became Evelyn Stewart in BLOOD
FOR A SILVER DOLLAR and remained 'Evelyn' for another 50 films
- mostly Westerns and Thrillers - before retiring in 1991.
