Here
is Cult Exploitation at its Best! Legendary filmmakers Joe D'Amato (Aristide
Massaccesi) and Bruno Mattei wrote it, produced it and delivered it
to an unsuspecting audience in 1976. Here is the highly controversial
story of a woman named Emanuelle who concocts an elaborate revenge plot
against slimeball Carlo after he drives her younger sister Francoise
to suicide.
This
film serves as a foundation for D'Amato's Golden Period, produced a
mere two months before he put Laura Gemser under contract for the Black
Emanuelle series. It is a well-made, shocking venture into sexploitation
by two of the industry godfathers.
George
Eastman is still active in movies as of this writing, but since 1987
he has been using his real name, Luigi Montefiori, for the credits.
He started acting in the early '60s and has made 65+ films since then
under a variety of pseudonyms (including John Cart, Alex Carver, Lew
Cooper, Gabriele Duma, Richard Franks, Louis London, Gigi Monte and
Tom Salina). Before joining Joe D'Amato's stable in the mid '70s, he
was best known for his Spaghetti Westerns, BLOOD
AT SUNDOWN, VIVA
DJANGO, HATE
THY NEIGHBOR all signed as George Eastman (an obvious play on
Clint Eastwood's name). After joining D'Amato's troupe, Eastman began
co-writing scripts too (ie., HARD
SENSATIONS and ANTHROPOPHAGUS
THE GRIM REAPER.
