Planning
to expose the corrupt practices of a women's prison, Emanuelle (Laura
Gemser from EMANUELLE

the guards' brutal treatment of the inmates, but she never gets a chance
to report these horrors. When her actual identity is revealed, she finds
herself on the receiving end of even worse tortures.
Italian
filmmaker Bruno Mattei is no stranger to women-in-prison film, responsible
for some of the legendary Euro exploitation fare. This entry is generally
considered one of the very best WiP movies. Towards the end of his life,
Mr Mattei would return to the genre with the extraordinary JAIL:
WOMEN'S HELL in 2006.
