Elo Pannaccio
directed 14 films between 1972-1985 under a variety of pseudonyms. He
made a Western under the alias Mark Welles (Death Played A Flute),
an Exorcist ripoff (Return of the Exorcist) as Frank C Lucas, and
a variety of sex films under the names Angel Jonathan, Angel Valery and
Angelo Alessandro Pann. His 'serious' films were signed as Elo Panaccio.
This film - despite its rather exploitative title - was a successful attempt
at the Giallo genre. Mr Pannaccio died at age 78 in December of 2001.
A group of shady relatives
gather together at a family mansion for the reading of a will. The inheritance
will be split equally among the relatives. But there is an added stipulation:
if any beneficiary should die within the week, their share will be split
with the surviving heirs. Obviously, people start dying soon. It seems
that one of the relatives is actually a witch (maybe, warlock?) motivated
not only by greed but also by a very strong hatred for the family.
The cast is especially
strong but this film is most notable as a early outing for Camille Keaton
who found fame a few years later in I
SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE.
