Have Seen This Overwhelming French Gore-Fest
starring director Jean Rollin...
director:
N G Mount
starring: Jean Rollin · Michel Finas · M Helene Janin · William Lustig
Director
Jean Rollin is known worldwide for his landmark French erotic vampire
movies, but here is a seldom-seen 'lost' motion picture he made for his
filmmaker friend Norbert Mount.
This
ultra gory (and yes, relatively incoherent) film was conceived as a RE-ANIMATOR
clone, but it spun wildly out-of-control, making it virtually unreleasable.
The story deals with mad Doctor Roll who performs grossly unethical experiments
in an insane asylum, keeping a truck-load of body parts (some of them
still moving) in the basement. After things get really messy, he and his
son go to New York City to continue their work with brain transplants.
One of their unfortunate patients is William Lustig - yes, the famous
cult director - who has gone to them seeking a cure from his "Maniac
Cop" nightmares.
A
French film; widescreen, totally uncut version (88 min.), in (mostly)
French language with optional English subtitles, DVD encoded for ALL
REGIONS NTSC, playable on any American machine. Extras include various
trailers.
