October 1918: young
Doctor Giorgio Volli is released from the military after developing lung
problems. He returns to an orphanage where he had done his intern work.
The children are gone, apparently sent to a safe haven in the mountains
at the outbreak of war. Giorgio then goes in search for the children only
to discover they have all met violent death by a pack of wolves. His search
becomes a hide-and-seek with death after Giorgio finds the mysterious
village bordered by a treacherous marsh, the childlike Catherine and rumors
of deadly wolves.
