Chinese
Action Blockbuster called the "Feudal X-Men" by International
Critics
director:
Gordon Chan and Janet Chun
starring: Anthony Wong · Chao Deng · Liu Yi Fei · Ronald Cheng · Collin
Chou · Wu Xiu Bo
Imagine "X-Men"
set in feudal China. Except this one is based on a series of popular books
published in Asia called "The Four Great Constables." The four
lead characters are superheroes with names that reflect their uniquely
special superpowers. Meet Emotionless
(Liu Yifei), Iron Fist (Collin Chou), Life Snatcher (Ronald Cheng) and
Cold Blood (Chao Deng). Their leader/boss is Zhyge Zhenwo played by Anthony
Wong and he runs the Divine Constabulary. For this venture (the first
of a planned trilogy) The Four are given the task of tracking down a shadow
organization suspected of dumping tons of counterfeit coins into the marketplace
in an attempt to destroy the government.
The standout
here is Miss Liu Yi Fei (from ASSASSINS)
in the role of Emotionless, a wheelchair bound investigator capable of
moving objects with her mind.
