director:
Riccardo Freda
starring: Stafano Patrizi · Laura Gemser · Martine Brochard · John Richardson
· Anita Strindberg
In 1937, Riccardo
Freda began a career in film as a screenwriter and production supervisor.
He moved to directing in 1942, beginning a career that lasted 40 years.
During that time, he flirted with a variety of genres including peplums
(GIANTS
OF THESSALY), westerns (DEATH AT OWELL
ROCK) and - of course - thrillers (TRAGIC
CEREMONY).
This film - FOLLIA OMICIDA - was his final project. It has been
released under a variety of titles including FEAR, UNCONSCIOUS and MURDER
SYNDROME. Now, through Italy's Raro Video, it is finally available in
a fully uncut version.
Today, Michael
is a successful actor, but he has a scandalous past; as a child, he knifed
his father to death. After wrapping up a film project, he and girlfriend
Deborah go to mother's for the weekend. They are joined by the crew from
the movie studio. Immediately things don't go well and Michael fears that
nightmares from his past are materializing. Soon, people become victims
of a mysterious killer.
An
Italian film; fully uncut, unrated version, widescreen, uncut (92 min.)
version, in Italian language with English subtitles, in DVD encoded for
ALL REGIONS, playable on any American machine. Extras include trailers
and interviews.
