Gianni Garko is best known for his numerous Spaghetti Westerns, especially the SARTANA series. In tandem, the director here also is best known for his Westerns BLOOD FOR A SILVER DOLLAR and FORT YUMA GOLD.

This story is loosely based on the Tolstoy story "Wurdulak" (the same source material Mario Bava used for his BLACK SABBATH). Here, a nameless man (Garko) - seemingly mentally ill - is admitted into a psychiatric hospital after being found wandering aimlessly in the woods.
Through treatment, he begins to remember nightmarish events with a backwoods family and a mysterious deadly curse..
