Long-time Jackie Chang filmmaker Gordon Chan (the director of the previous PAINTED SKIN) returns with this wildly entertaining fantasy actioner. Here is the the story of a poor scholar traveling to the capital city to take an examination. Enroute he sees a mural, becomes entranced by it and actually finds himself transplanted inside the painting. There he begins a magical journey populated with monsters and fairies.
