Legendary Tony Ching Siu-Tung (the filmmaker responsible for classic hits CHINESE GHOST STORY, DORORO, SWORDSMAN and many more) directs this update of a Tsui Hark's GREEN SNAKE. The story deals with the romance of a mortal man and the spirit of a white snake, plus a monk that comes between them. Specifically, two female spirits, White Snake and Green Snake, meet a young aspiring doctor. White Snake rescues him; they fall in love and marry (without him knowing of her true background). Meanwhile, Reverend Hai - played by Jet Li (who appears to be having the time of his life) - is a monk dedicated to ridding the earth of invading demons and spirits.
