Cult director
Takashi Miike (85 feature films between 1991-2011, including ICHI
THE KILLER, GOZU
and AUDITION)
delivers a bravado action film loosely based on SHOGUN'S
SHADOW, set at the end of Japan's feudal era. The story deals
with a group of elite samurai secretly enlisted to bring down a sadistic
lord in order to prevent him from ascending to the throne and plunging
the country into a war torn future. Terrific action sequences and top
notch acting makes this one of Miike's "must-see" films.
