COUNT DRACULA (1970) Jess Franco/Klaus Kinski/Soledad Miranda
1194DVD
director:
Jesus Franco
starring:
Christopher Lee · Klaus Kinski · Soledad Miranda ·
Herbert Lom
This
film from Jess Franco
is the perhaps most faithful screen adaptation of Bram Stoker's famous
novel. That's what originally drew Christopher Lee to the project in the
first place. But, Franco's eccentricity and budgetary problems morphed
the film into the legendary cult classic that it is. The basic story is
familiar. Real estate lawyer Jonathan Harker travels to Transylvania on
the invitation of Count Dracula. He finds the count to be a cordial gentleman,
but poor Harker soon becomes a prisoner in the castle, a victim of the
count and his vampire brides.
