The Two
BLACULA Films in a Special Double Feature
BLACULA
(1972)
director: William Crain
starring: William Marshall · Denise Nicholas · Vonetta
McGee · Gordon Pinsent
William
Marshall (formerly a Shakespearean actor) portrays the noble African
prince transformed into a brutal fiend by the greatest bloodsucker of
them all, Dracula. As the story goes... In 1780, Prince Mamuwalde visits
Count Dracula in Transylvania, seeking his support in ending the slave
trade. Instead, the evil count curses his noble guest by transforming
him into a vampire and locking him inside a coffin to perish. Fast forward
two centuries when a pair of interior decorators accidentally free Blacula
from his doomed fate, allowing him to roam freely in the jungle of Los
Angeles on a quest for blood.
SCREAM
BLACULA, SCREAM (1973)
director: Bob Kellian
starring: William Marshall · Pam Grier · Richard Lawson
· Michael Conrad
William Marshall
reprises his Blacula role for this sequel. Once again, Marshall portrays
the noble African prince transformed into a brutal fiend by Dracula. This
time, his rival (and love interest) is Lisa, a voodoo princess played
by Pam Grier. It's voodoo power versus vampire fury when the son of the
late cult-queen seeks revenge against everybody in the clan for his bid
for control when his mother died.
