Based
on Tezuka Osamu's ultra-popular manga, this one tells the unconventional
story of warrior Hyakkimaru, cursed from birth... born as a living husk
(faceless, organ-less and limbless). His father had offered unborn Hyakkimaru's
body to 48 demons in exchange for power. They ravished him, leaving the
boy for dead. A kindly shaman saved him and rebuild him with artificial
tissues fashioned from the remains of fallen dead. After the magician
dies, Hyakkimaru begins a quest to find the 48 different demons and reclaim
his own true body parts. A young orphan swordswoman named Dororo accompanies
him in the deadly journey.
