A female detective is attempting to solve a vicious rape/murder case but there aren't a lot of solid clues. She heads out to the forest where the girls were sexually brutalized and murdered but quickly she learns that there's something VERY mysterious about the wilderness where these bodies were found. After becoming convinced that the trees themselves are the actual killers, this detective contacts a scientist friend who has written a thesis confirming that plants are sentient creatures.
