Legendary
swordsman/samurai Sasuke Sarutobi tracks the spy Nojiri, while a mysterious
figure named Sakon leads a band of men on their own quest for the outlaw
Nojiri. As bounty hunters trick and attack each other - an array of double
and triple agents - by the film's end, the viewer isn't sure what side
anybody is on. Perhaps, the ultimate nihilistic samurai movie from director
Shinoda.
A Japanese
film; widescreen (2.35:1), uncut (100 min.) version in DVD encoded for
ALL REGIONS, playable on any American DVD machine; in Japanese language
with removable English subtitles as an option; extras include a 16 minute
interview with director Shinoda.
