This production
is clearly the culmination of the visionary director's work. Liu Chia-liang
employed the theme of "trying to defeat the gun years" long
before "Once Upon A Time In China." This film also includes
the notorious Chinese magician-spies scenes (often compared to the ninja
segments in Japanese cinema). Generally, LEGENDARY WEAPONS OF KUNG FU (aka 'Legendary Weapons of China')
is considered the quintessential martial arts movie. It's easily one of
the very best Shaw Bros films.
