shadow boxing champion Chen Wo-Fu died at age 24, before the premiere
of this film · tragically · his first. Today, tai chi enthusiasts
still marvel at his performance in this epic Shaw Bros production. Even
though "Tai Chi" (shadow boxing) is a deadly martial arts skill,
the true practitioner relishes a lifestyle of restraint, even pacifism.
Ku Ting (Chen Wo-Fu) is such a man, always turning the other cheek to
aggression, never using his boxing to settle a score. But when his girlfriend
is raped by vicious gangsters he vows to use his Tai Chi expertise to
seek vengeance.
