This is the
original 1980 film that inspired two remakes THE BEASTS 2003: FLESH AND
THE BLOODY TERROR (2003) and THE BEASTS: CHAINSAW SLAUGHTER (1999).
It's the story
of a group of teens that go camping in the woods, where they are stalked
by some mutant backwoods psychos. One girl is raped and killed by these
frenzied weirdos and then her brother is gruesomely murdered. When the
local peace officer refuses to cooperate, the girl's father (played by
scriptwriter Fong Ling Ching) takes justice into his own hands. He hunts
down the responsible sickos and eliminates them with brutal ingenuity.
As typical of the best CAT III films, this one is unusually grim and sadistic,
obviously inspired by such Western fare as THE HILLS HAVE EYES and I SPIT
ON YOUR GRAVE.
