Circa 1908. Luis Peñafiel is a mystery writer who has just completed the manuscript that promises a logical answer to the puzzle of a murder in a locked room. He attends a literary conference where he's confronted by a notoriously snarky critique who challenges Peñafiel's professional ability. A bit later, that critic turns up dead in his locked hotel room. And Luis is accused to the crime.
